Mapping different macro's to one controller

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry if this is already asked but I couldn't find a topic about this. Is it possible to map different macro's to one controller when switching between tracks. What I mean is when you want to control an effect with a knob on track 1 then switch to another track and control another effect with that same knob without affecting the first effect on track 1.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

Which controller are you using ?

Ableton comes pre packaged with a wide selection of "automap" scripts for the most well known controllers. Do you see yours in the control surfaces drop down in Live's midi preferences ? If so, select it as a control surface and enable it's input. If you click on a device macro you should now see a blue hand in the title bar which means the controller is automapping to the first eight controls.

If your device isn't supported, take a look here for how to search for a script someone already may have written and , failing that, how to create your own.
