all major applications can do this - it's a BASE. in Logic? the clip view = sample editor view, you can select a part of the sampe and APPL+Shift+R and it's loopped! what's the problem make the shortcut for Live??? dragging "loop brace" to loop the small piece of 10 minute sample i just crazy!!! maybe i missed something and it can be done much easier but i haven't found any new method besides of dragging loop barce manually... holly shit!

This simple command is actually a key foundation to a whole lot of techniques that are extremely difficult if not impossible without it.
We've been asking for it over and over again, I think for whatever reason it's not as easy to implement in Live as we would like it to be
.

not only would i want a key command I would want to use the keys to move it from left to right. its a performace thing then and much fun could be had from it. set up a half bar or quarter bar loop and start moving about you can get siome nifty ideas
but as this is a request for the linear side of the sequencer we will have to wait for abletons hqs cleaner to get clued up on programming. they passed all new arrange view improvements over to mrs magdalena hoffanhoffeur aged 87 the companies cleaner

Hi M. Please,
When the loop brace is selected (we're talking about the clip's loop brace in that thread right?), you can move it using the up and down arrows, and double or half it using CTRL up and down arrows (on the PC).
So the purpose of that thread is to be able to select that clip's loop brace via a key command. Point taken.
Regards,
Amaury

Amaury, I would concur that this would be a great addition. The ability to select to the loop brace and move it around and record it into the arrangement is a REALLY powerful feature already. To be able to do this w/ a key command would be huge.

Have it. Use it. There is a foolproof script that will select clip brace?

Although, we don't actually need a key command to select the loop brace, if we can instead have key commands to shorten and move the loop brace
without it being selected. Selecting the loop brace is only a means to an end; any other way to reach that end would just as satisfactory.

I don't think so. I've be trying to write one that's resolution independent, skin independent, view independent, etc. But I'm not there yet...
