What can i use as the tutorial i am using is 9 and i only have 8?

Ableton's native compressor?

There is no "glue compressor in Ableton 8" What would i use instead?

It would be easier to answer if you can tell us what exactly you are looking to achieve with the glue compressor that you cannot with the native compressor

Right in. In fact, any SSL modeled compressor should help you out. Google it, I bet there's a bunch of freebies.

Personally, I really like the texture of the Waves SSL compressor. If you have Native Instruments Kompletr range of tools then you'll fun a decent SSL style compressor there too.
