WAVE player (not sampler)

hi folks!

this could maybe make some of you disappointed, because already discussed many times.
after reading this topic
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=160234&hilit=midi+c ... wav+player
I however decided to create another topic.

I would need to play different audio clips (audio format is not important at this time), not in sync with master tempo, taken from a huge list of tracks (let's say 500 tracks), and have to be triggered via midi.
Note that I need to play more than one clip at the same time (let's say 6-7 clips simoultaneously), and manage via midi fade-in, fade-out, start, stop indipendentely track by track.

I think this cannot be made using Live with audioclips, because I cannot create 500 audio tracks and control all them at the same time.
I suppose the best solution is a dedicated VST plugin in a single track able to do this.

can someone suggest a good solution?

many thanks.
Alan

500 is a lot. What are you planning to trigger them with?

The closest I can think of is drum racks.

no, I'm keyboardist. and I send lot of musical fx even really short (1-2 seconds), like broken glass, explosion, etc.
I play progressive music (either in a Pink Floyd tribute as in my own project) and I have LOT of clips.
anyway, I've never experienced to have more than 6-7 clips at the same time.

to be clear,
it's been more than 10 years I'm using my own software (AZMIDI), which is the basic part of my gear.
it's a standalone software which create songs with steps inside, able to manage a lyrics monitor and change all the sounds I need in every moments as much as playing multiple clips with autofade capabilites. with a midi router (AZROUTER) I manage the totally flexible routing with multiple midi cards.
take a look at https://www.facebook.com/groups/azMidi/

Now that I share the same PC (good Dell laptop workstation) for Live, azMidi and azRouter, I would take the advantage of Live to play the audio clips directly via Live (because I can manage the same audio device!), which can also add powerful and very intersting effects to those audio clips.
