Vestax VCM 600 - still worth it?

So this thing is a beast and about 5 / 6 years ago was the deluxe midi controller but I can't pull the trigger for some reason...
I'm really after something with faders to complement Push, that i can do dub style hands on mixing on. I'm not really interested in an APC/Clip launcher, so have narrowed it down to:
Novation Launch Control XL (with isotonik's XXL patch) - £120 + £15ish
Livid DS1 - £300
Vestax VCM 600 - £160ish (if bought from Germany where it still seems to be on sale) or less second hand
The Livid is very expensive for what it is, though obviously nice. The novation is portable but i don't want wobbly lightweight faders.
I'm veering towards the Vestax as its built like a tank, vestax make good mixers and I think the layout fits my style more than the others, and it has obvious DJing capabilities which I like.
My only concern is its age - is anyone still using this with Live 9 (9.6) and how is it going - do the standard mappings work. Just worried i'll get it then it will become obselete - though i want to be convinced it still has a place in the modern home studio
Thoughts from other users?
