Oh, thought about this one myself and I don't think it can be done (I could be wrong)

But the MBOX only has 2 outs, no more no less and you can't route an output to your head phone jack

I think M-Audio makes a nice firewire solution with like 4 outs or something like that

Yeah - the answer to the best of my ability is

no

someone posted something about some app or feature of Tiger that would let you use both your Mbox outs and your mac outs at the same time (if you're on a mac).

Correct me if I'm wrong.

on the mac, there are many 3rd party tools which interface with Coreaudio and assist you with things like this... also Tiger supports such a feature natively now (I've heard).

On the PC you don't have many options.

Aggregate devices in OSX Tiger is supposed to let you do this with the built in audio and another device, but knowing digidesign, their drivers won't support it. I'm not sure if there are drivers for the Mbox on Tiger yet.

I could be wrong but we're talking about digidesign here...get a cheap multi out interface....

Get yourself a analogue mixer. I have one to hear everything I play before I sample into Live.

Protools 6.9 LE is now availiable and includes the Tiger compatable core audio drivers, no good if you don't have 6.7 as they don't have a standalone installer yet.

Mixer Sounds like the best alternative

I don't know why I didn't thought about it before.
Thank You .

Whats the deal with PT 6.9 & Tiger ? It allows you to use multiple sound cards for one aplication? Like the Core Audio (PT) & the built in Audio?
That would be nice!!!

Using a simple free program called JACK, you can make a send track go to your computer's built in audio, so you can use this track for auditioning samples. There's a thread in the Tricks and Tips area about this that's pretty detailed. It works fine for me with my Powerbook G4 and my Mbox.
