Hi there

I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find a recent relevant thread...

I need a simple way of getting Live to implement a series of commands

(In this case duplicate track, freeze track, flatten)

What's the simplest way of doing this? Is Automator on Mac up to the task?

One complications is that freeze track and flatten are not associated with keystrokes...

No answer?

It appears automator is not going to work, as it does not seem to be available to do sequences of within-app commands.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I finally found his thread (s) on this issue. He has a lot of advice over at his site MacAbleton, but he relies (relied?) heavily on a piece of software called yKey. yKey is still available but has apparently been broken by Yosemite.

Bugger.

Have you tried Automator's 'Watch Me Do' action?
It lets you record and play back all your mouse & keyboard events (right-click selections, etc).

You can add shortcuts for freeze and flatten (and many other things) in OSX system preferences, under keyboard.

That's useful. I don't want to automate mouse actions. But automator plus app keyboard shortcuts will be excellent.

I use Keyboard Maestro

You can do much more than system preferences. Such as:
-Launch programs
-Multiple commands with single keystroke
-Also uses midi signals (i open maschine, make it fullscreen and adjust system volume from maschine hardware in midi mode)
