Is it possible to put locator in session view

I want to use backing tracks with by band live with the options of repeating different parts of the song. For example repeating the chorus during a guitar solo.

If i use arrangement view but, i can easily set up locator point and repeat them at will but with this method, i can only have one song loaded at the time.

If i use session view i can set up each song as a separate scenes, but how can i trigger different locator point this way ?

You can change the point from where a clip starts playing when it is triggered, so create different parts of each song as separate clips/scenes (with different starting points) and then trigger them whenever you want.

I'm aware of the clip start but this method will take forever.

For example, i have 20 songs and each song has 10 tracks and 5 different locators. The 10 tracks will be rendered into 10 clips, then imported into session view and then i must go into each clip and set the start point, repeat this whole process for each different locator point...damn what a workflow killer.

Any other suggestions ? I love to have something like chunks in Digital Performer, by far the best way to play backing tracks live...

The longest part is the rendering and re-importing into session view - depending on your machine and project, but what you can do instead of exporting/rendering and the re-importing is to go into each of your song's arrangement project and in the arrangement timeline make a selection of the time (across all 10 tracks) that you want to render out and with the right button menu choose "consolidate to new scene". It will render the 10 tracks automatically into a scene in session view with the selection rendered to 10 clips on 10 tracks. Now you can save that scene by selecting all the clips on the line (with Shift) and dragging them into Live's browser into any folder you create (for example "backing tracks" folder) and name what you dragged out Song 01 (for example).

Repeat for all 20 songs. If is fast once you know the process. Once you have this, the rest will be fast as well.

Open your backing tracks project if you have one.... or a new project.... you will import the 20 scenes you saved (with 10 clips on 10 tracks). Starting with Song 01, drag Song 01 from your browser into a scene. Duplicate the scene 4 times. And then change the start locators for each clip in scene 2, then scene 3, etc.... it's as simple as double-clicking the clip on scene 2 track 1, dragging the locator, clicking the clip on scene 2 track 2, dragging the locator, etc....

All this typing took me longer most likely than the whole process of getting your backing tracks into session view ;)

Of course, it would be nice if Live to let us change the start locators of multiple clips at once ;)

Bump. Starting and looping from "arrangement-" marker to marker in session view.

I found a way to key map it, but no loop selection,. Or sound playing for that matter..

This would be a really usefull feature, so you can put arranger stuff in the arranger window. And bounce stems from the session view.
Icing on the cake if you ask me.
