Macro assignments disappear when hot swapping samples

Hi
As the title of the post says, when I click the hot swap button to change a sound in Sampler within a rack or press Browse on my Push2, the macro assignments I've set up (Samplers ADSR, filter and res) disappear. If however, I drag a new sample with the mouse directly onto the Sampler then the assignments remain. What gives? Am I doing something wrong?
I'd like to be able to use my Push2 to browse new samples for Sampler without remapping the macros each time. I've tried saving the device as a default midi track and I've saved the rack to my user library but neither of these things fixes the problem.
Basically I want to 'hard map' the Sampler device ADSR and filter controls to the rack macros and browse my sample library to my hearts content with Push yet this seems to be only achievable with the one thing I'm trying to ditch - the mouse.
Bit confused, can anyone help?
