Hi,

I'm thinking about getting Omnisphere 2 but I'm concerned that my laptop isn't going to be able handle it. My MacBook Pro is an early 2011 model with a 2.2 GHz i7 processor, 16Gb RAM and a 1Tb SSD. Is anyone using Omnisphere 2 with a similar spec machine? I contacted spectrasonics and they advised me that the minimum required spec is a 2.4GHz processor and so obviously they couldn't offer me any support if I had problems.

Omnisphere is quite massive, having a SSD drive will help some. I imagine that you would be able to use Omni, but you may have to freeze your sounds and convert them to audio often. You can also try posting on gearslutz for some more advice. I personal do not own a comp "under" the required specs of Omni, so I can not say for certain either way whether or not your comp will be able to handle it. If you really want it that bad you can always purchase it, if your comp cant stand the heat- just set Omni aside until you can get a new computer lol...
