Wise forum — here's my setup & question:

- 2 Tracks. Both tracks have the exact same song (which is just acoustic guitar and voice in one compiled song/track)
- Track 1: Has a "Utility" [ width: 0%, Phz-L:ON, Phz-R:ON]
- Track 2: Has nothing.

What I hear when I play the tracks, is just the guitar, which is great — but I actually want to isolate just the vocals.
Question: Is there a way to take the output (the isolated guitar) and flip or filter a third track (of the same song) to subtract the guitar and leave only (or almost only) the vocals?

You can actually do it on the same track if you want, but in essence the trick is as you guessed, phase inversion.

I'm not sure why you have an empty track, that's not doing anything!

If you have the guitar track, and you have (a parallel stream of) the guitar and vocal track - you press the invert buttons on one of these and you'll be left with the uncommon remainder - the vocal.

Actually it's more likely to be the vocal and a bunch of spill and guitar reverb . Not clean, but often usable.
