Hi !
My simpler looks like the old one (at least it doesn't look like the one I see on every tutorial)
I'm using Ableton Live 9.6.2
and my simpler looks like that : oh I don't know how to put an image... !
But I'd still need help

Would you be able to show a link to a tutorial that uses each type?

You might be able to right click or something to switch to the current one (maybe it says upgrade?). There is some information in the manual about versions, but not a lot of info.
