Just wondering if theres a way or if anyone has found a way.

Edit: Obviously I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve the mouse.

1. Record a audio clip into the Live session/clip view as sample
2. Trim/warp the clip/sample to desired length
3. Insert a new midi track
4. Drag/insert empty simpler device into midi track
5. Bring up simpler device
6. Drag audio sample as clip into the sampler

Done

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but maybe somebody still reads this stuff. I found a pretty cool and quick way to get an audio clip into a Simpler. It does involde a mouse but only for a very short time.

1. Hover your mouse over the clip you want to go in the Simpler.
2. Right click, Show in Browser (takes you to Current Project/Samples/Recorded)
3. Insert a midi track: ctrl+shift+t
4. Enter, to load it from Browser to Simpler right away (many people don't know this shortcut I think)
5. Close Browser: ctrl+alt+b

You can use Bomes Midi translator or Auto Hotkey to automate all of this. So you only have to hover your mouse over a clip, push a button and it loads to a Simpler.

Too bad the Show in Browser command isn't available in the Alt menus on the top. Or else you wouldn't even need a mouse to do the hoovering. Is hoovering a word?

Double post.

So, another cool trick is getting a midi controller with endless rotary knobs. Map one of the knobs to Right arrow (clockwise) and Left arrow (counterclockwise). Now you can select any parameter in Ableton and control it with that one knob. You only have to select it and then turn the knob to your liking. Cool for startpoint/endpoint in Simpler for example.

How about this one: drag a sample/audio clip onto a midi track's device view and this sample will be loaded into a Simpler...

Yeah, that's just using the mouse. I don't like the dragging mouse part of if. Plus you'll need the Device View open. When you automate the steps I said it is a simple button click. Pretty cool I think. But I dragging works for you do that of course. Just sharing another option. :)
