I have some drums bussed, as per the image shown.

The issue is – the Drum Bus channel itself is generating some sort of low buzz + white noise kinda sound. Its barely audible, but when I engage my compressor on the channel it becomes audible.

When i insert a Utility on the Drum Bus, and crank the gain (while the track is stopped), the noise is visible in the channel, as per the pic.

I went through all the channels that were feeding the bus and deleted every insert – but the noise still persists.

What is going on here? and what is the solution?

Your're monitoring the input of that track with Ext. In set to 1/2. Is anything connected to those inputs? - I reckon you're either hearing noise generated by externals sources or the inputs' self noise.

If you don't need any external input, switch the "Audio From" to No Input and hope the noise goes away. This would not affect that track recieving the internal source tracks that SEND their input to the DRUM BUS.

On a first impulse I was about to ask for a view on all of the routing to be able to guess where the noise was coming from...

Five years on and it helped me! Cheers Was driving me crazy.
