What do you mean by "tighten up"? Rhythmically, as in quantize? Dynamically, with compression? Both?

I've heard a few transient scupltors in the past and thats right up there with the best from what I can hear. You could quite easily sculpt new rhythms with that

you can use the maltiband dynamics stock plugins, there is a preset called reduce ambiance.
that usually works pretty good.
you can always combine that with a few of the other techniques mentioned in this thread
