Assign more than one MIDI note to single effect parameter?

Is there a way to assign two or more MIDI notes to a single parameter on a Live audio effect?

For instance, I would like to send C1 to an effect parameter (with toggle minimum value of 0 and max of 4 in the MIDI Mappings panels) and D1 to to the same effect parameter (but with values from 5 to 9). This way, pressing different notes would change the values of a single parameter.

Thanks in advance.

You can do this chromatically. So it would be C1, C#1.

When you map, hold C1 and press the C#1 then let go of both. It should say that you have a range mapped.

Then limit the min and max. If your min is 0 and Max is 9, then you'll get approximately the behavior you described.

You could even go up to D1 if it is only two parameters. And the C and D would just move the parameter to extremes. C#1 could be something in the middle haha

Thanks, but unfortunately this didn't work for me. C1 gets mapped, but nothing happens if C1 is held and I press C#1. If I let go of C1, C#1 gets mapped instead of C1.

Let go of both at once.

Is it a gradual parameter or a button in Live that you're mapping to?

What shows up in the midi map mode parameter list that appears where the browser goes?

Ok, I realized the problem: On my 12-Step MIDI controller, I had a the key "safety" set to Single Key, rather than Multi-Key. After switching it to Multi, your press-hold-let go solution worked. THANK YOU!

Yikes. I just realized that it isn't exactly to your description because there is no toggling (no dual functionality of individual notes).

It is about as close as it gets without re-assigning the notes in the controller to cc's instead.
