Hey Beatport Play has now shutdown and remix comps
https://remixcomps.com/ doesn't update often anymore!
I was wondering if people could post good sites to find remix competitions!
I use
Wavo.me
and just found
https://metapop.com

Blend.io does them, usually sponsored by the artist, and it's particularly compatible with Live. You can upload Live projects to their site through Dropbox and it will analyze the project to create a list of every plugin, both native and third party, that was used. Handy for finding collaborators and getting critique of works in progress.

Hi Prestondj!
Im receiving the Newsletters from wavo.me.
They seem to be very busy...
Thank you for the hint "
https://metapop.com" i registered myself yesterday!
It seems really easy to release own remixes via metapop.
This is my actual question:
What can i do with my Mashups (min. > 8 Titles).....
Im doing that for fun and i think in the next Months I'll finish some Mashups.
It would be great to share these pearls:) but i dont want to be slapped by Lawyers.
I read Soundcloud is a very bad place for remixes (takedowns..).
Then i read - you can create a YT Account and just upload content.
Then every Track will be recognized and if there is no problem (e.g. some Artist don't want that somebody's using his work) the Video stays online and will be monetarized.
Perhaps there are other possibilities to share mashups/remixes without contacting every Artist...(like metapop) i do not know....
So if someone could give me some advice, i would be very happy....
Regards,
Alfonx
P.S.: ... and now lets hear some of your Remixes

Here are some recent remixes i have done:

https://soundcloud.com/prestondj/ket-is ... ston-remix
Mashups you could put into a pack then make a mini mix with them!

Understood. Art wants to be fee and all that.

That bit confuses me.
So you want to put up remixes of other artists material. Artists you didn't ask for the privilege.
AND you want to make money off of it?
Pretty bold don't you think?!
Did you at least think of some way to compensate them for your profit?

Aehm - sorry Sir!
Full respect for your ... hm ..."feedback".
Bold..
... honestly - i expected that everyone who reads my "thoughts" of course knows that i want ALL to participate. Not just me. Thats why i wrote this. I think in 2017 its absolute obviously that Artist have to get back money for they work ... And this is what Youtube is doing here. The Youtuber still gets a "little" bit and the Artist gets the most money (so i understood it).
So.... if someone put their music in a new collage with another "touch" - you create something new (typical remix - but i am talking about mashup which still can contains a lot of Songs in a short time). And if people like this - dont you think this is nothing worth?

Honest question: If you upload a mix of music from other artists to youtube, these artists get automatically payed?
First time I hear of this. Maybe I
have been living under a rock...

You are right! IF(!) the Artists agrees to that model. Otherwise your Video will be blocked automatically. And i think this is a great solution for everybody. Thanks to DJ Rewerb i know about this Youtube-thing.
This following Page is in german - but i think you still will find a lot of Information about in englisch:
http://www.rewerb.com/dj-tipps/legal-dj ... ichen.html
But i think there are some more possibilities for sharing Remixes or Mashups.
This is what i was thinking about. What do all the people do with their mashups.....
