Midi tracks get cut off when enabling external clock

Hi,
Does anyone know why my midi instrument tracks are cut off abnormally when the external midi clock sending device has send a stop.
I do see the tempo is getting updated with the external clock, even when the sender has send a midi stop (which is good).. But when i press stop on my external device, my midi instruments in ableton get messed up. I can not play them live anymore on o other (dedicated) midi keyboard. The notes do trigger a sound, but it gets cut off like within a couple milliseconds. When i press start again on my external device, then the midi instruments in ableton are working again without getting cut off etc..
Is this a setting or something? What am i missing here?
TK
Edit/Add:
My setup:
1 Yamaha Tyros as master clock/midi...
2 Ableton is midi slave for triggering sample shots warped to the tempo (from ext midi clock a.k.a the thyros)...
3 In ableton i have a midi track instrument which i control with an usb midi keyboard.
When i hit start on the tyros the style starts playing, and everything on ableton works perfect.
But when the style is stopped, everything in ableton gets messed up. Then, When i try to play the ableton instrument for example, the sounds are getting cut off within a couple miliseconds.. but again, when i hit start on the tyros and the style is playing.. then everythings works perfect again in ableton too..

Can you try it the other way around? I mean, make Live the masterclock for midi? And see what that does. Not what you are asking, and I will try to simulate your situation, where I suppose a external sequencer is the master right now.

I can't simulate the situation as my old Yamaha RM1x sequencer don't want's to sync as master to LIVE. The other way round works perfectly.
What is your setup? ie.: what devices do you use?

Have you tried letting Live be the master? Or won't the Tyros allow you to do so?

It.s possible, but i want the tyros to be the master, because my main device which i am using is the tyros. The Ableton part is secondary (and therefor the midi slave)..

I understand your point of view..... but I can't think of a cause and a solution at this moment, I'm sorry.
Hope someone else chimes in with a solution, or at least an explanation.

Thanks for your time, i hope too.. I just cann`t imagine that i cann`t play a instrument live, without having a midi start which i don`t need for it..
Question is still standing.. Anyone??

Don't you have any way of investigating what MIDI is sent from the Tyros? That would seem to the most natural starting point. Max For Live has a MIDImonitor and I think there should be some plug-ins or apps that could tap the MIDI flow as well. There at least used to be hardware devices that could display what's in the stream as well. Haven't seen one in a while.
What are the MIDI settings on the Tyros? What does their manual say about MIDI in this regard?

I have checked the incoming midi signal from the Tyros using Midi Monitor. I only get a clock signal when the device is not playing a style....... No midi note off or something else...

Hmmm, but does all instruments behave the same and have you also analysed the paths also to them? Some kind of interference must be taking place for this to even occur. I use a lot of external gear from time to time and sync machines and I've never encountered this.
Could you have MIDI loop somewhere? A patchbay on the path? If you reroute does the problem stay?

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this problem?
I have it now when using Ableton as slave and Digitakt as my main instrument. I want to add some live keyboard from Ableton, but sometimes the notes are immediately cut off like the OP described.

I have the same problem slaving ableton with squarp pyramid. All other external instruments sound find when sequenced from the same source.

This is my current best guess based on the information given.
The MIDI protocol says MIDI “start” is sent when the transport starts running and MIDI “stop“ when the transport is stopped. So when the clock source is stopped it should send “stop” and Live should also stop.
If an instrument has a patch which is in some way synced to a remote MIDI clock then if the transport isn’t running you can get the effect described of notes not sustaining. There are some devices, such as some sequencers, that only send clock when they are playing which means the rest of the time anything clocked to them has no MIDI time base to sync to.
This can happen with hardware as well as software, and varies from device to device. It can be really weird at times, a lot seems to depend on how MIDI clock and start/stop were implemented by the device’s designers.
My suggested fix would be to let Ableton handle MIDI clocking, that usually “just works”, or use a device which constantly sends clock even when it’s not in play mode.
