Ableton Loop off beat during live loop recording

So after finally figuring out how to set up my foot pedal and Ableton push for live looping I have ran into a big problem preventing me for being able to record anything. I have a guitar track and a drum track with the looper effect on them each going to their own audio track for looping playback.
The crazy part is that when I use the looper while i'm not recording in live it works perfectly fine and is on beat every time but as soon as I hit the record button and try to record my loop the looper effect for some odd reason waits 2 bars before recording and throws off my whole loop by 2 bars. I have no clue why it is doing this and have tried for hours to fix this to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated please. Thank you.
