Hi, I'm about ready to do a live DJ set soon. I don't want to do this at a bar or anything like that. I'm wondering if I can throw an event like those awkward local rock concerts from my youth. I wouldn't want to do it alone and so it be nice if there were more music acts...

Can anyone give me advice about throwing something like this? I thought I could do it at a community center, throw some signs up in places were younger/ interested people might be.

I think it may be a good idea to get out and be clubbing a bit and find potential friends and members of a posse. That always helps.
