APC40 Use track selection with custom mappings

Hi,
I'd like to use the track selection buttons on APC40 to select one device per track/master but then instead of the default mapping for that device I'd like to reconfigure.

i.e. with Master selected, the EQ Three mapping is activated, but instead of device control knob 5 toggling Lows-kill (as it's set by default), it would be the clip/track button
When track 3/Bass is selected, the EQ-8 device on that track is diplayed and I can use just a single knob for a LPF sweep, etc

This would be easy with midi mapping if the device control knobs become 8 static controls, but I want them to be variable based on what track is selected.

Is this possible??
Thanks.

Remote scripts are usally one size fits all solutions. They are often quite advanced (more advanced than the normal users would ever need), but if you try coloring outside the lines the limits show.

Sidesteping these limitations is possible, but generally means you will have to step outside your comfort zone.

Possibilities include
1.) Your own M4L solution
2.) Your own remote script (in Phyton adressing the Live API)
3.) Using Bomes MIDI Translator adressing ClyphX (the easiest solution(IMO), but still far from "drag and drop".

Is there a market out there for me to pay someone to set that up? Because it sounds like it will be over my head.

Yes and no

There are certainly vendors of very good and interesting solutions, either making M4L devices or remote scripts. Some edge cases even combine remote scripting and Bomes MT.

So this is definetely something you should look out for (sorry no personal suggetions on my part since I don't have an APC 40)

But if you are looking for something that does exactly what you desire, i.e. a custom solution, I'm not sure if they exist.

As a side note, I would say that to look into doing this yourself is something that will empower you beyond anything you can even imagine at the point you are at at the moment.(Bomes MT and Clyphx would be my go to suggestion as they are the easiest to get into)

But looking at your OP again, have you tried just racking your devices and simply assigning the macros to the funtions you like?!

No need, this is exactly what you are looking for...

https://isotonikstudios.com/sigabort/isotonik-preditor/

It allows you to define how ever native effect and instrument gets mapped for the APC40 with the supplied script...

It runs in the trial version of Max indefinitely and doesn't need maxforlive or any coding experience.

Yeah, I realized that the macros were the simple solution right as I was laying down for a nap :)

S4racen, this isotonik seems really cool and I'm definitely gonna try it out, as well

Well naps are definitely underrated

Great that you found what you were looking for, the solution S4racen provided seems like a very good fit for you 8)

I find naps are most conducive to solving a lot of problems myself!
