Sample Missing

Post by struknes » Wed Jun 28, 2017 3:24 am

The waveform says "sample offline." Below in orange it says, "media files are missing. please click here to learn more."

What do I do!?

It happens when you have lost reference to the audio source file.
Maybe you have deleted or moved the audio files,
Maybe you have moved the project without collect all and Save,
And maybe you should really click on the learn more.

When I click learn more, the dialog box flashes for a second and disappears. Too quick to even take a screenshot. And then when I try to click again,...no dialog box at all.

Is there a way to attach the audio file to the project, so I don't get this message when I move the file?

5. Managing Files and Sets
especially
5.7 Locating Missing Files

No, I won't "save you some reading" like marlonzuri did in the other thread.

And that dialog box flashing is just an info box indicating that Live is scanning your project for missing files. After that the manage files window should open up on the right of your Live screen..

Thanks, chrk. Hard to believe I didn't notice the manage files window opening up on the right of the Live screen. Big help. I don't mind the reading either.
