can't find delay compensation for ozone advanced
can't find delay compensation for ozone advanced
i just bought ozone advanced and am getting delay on the master, i've searched the forum and google and can't find a clear answer on how to fix this or find delay compensation in preferences, any advice? thanks
Re: can't find delay compensation for ozone advanced
i found the delay compensation in ozone and it's enabled but it doesn't help, still getting delay. Also it seems the crossover buffer is set to 128 in dynamics and exciter and can't be changed, in the Eq setting tab just buffer size not cross over is sett to 1024 with the option of being able to change, and my buffer in ableton is at 512, when ozone is deleted the delay goes back to normal, non existent, any advice is appreciated
Ozone on the master track is showing Latency 5247 sample (119 ms)
it doesn't seem tot have the delay effect when paying whats recorded but that could be just cause it's not as noticeable as when hitting a note or saying something, also in standalone form it doesn't seem to have much of any noticeable delay but this also could just be that it's not as noticeable as in real time

From Latency and Delay Compensation overview (Live Knowledge Base)"Live's Delay Compensation and how it works
Live automatically compensates for the internal latencies caused by devices, plug-ins, and track delays. The compensation algorithm offsets each Live track (including Return tracks) by the required amount to keep them in perfect sync with each-other.
Device delay compensation is on by default and does not normally have to be adjusted in any way. If required, it can be manually turned off or on, using the "Delay Compensation" option in the Options menu."
From Latency and Delay Compensation (Izotope Knowledge Base)
- Make sure the "Enable delay compensation"* feature is enabled in the Options/Preferences window. This option is available in the General section under "Latency" or "Delay Compensation."
*Note that this feature reports the exact offset in samples to the host application. The host itself will need to compensate for the offset.- Make your host's delay compensation feature is enabled. This will usually be available in the preferences window or an options/settings menu.

thanks stormkraft, both live and ozone delay compensation are enabled and it still happens.
I use t-racks and those processors have a fraction of the latency so this is something i'm not use to.
playback when everything's recorded and mixed is not bad and it doesn't seem to be effecting the exported file, prob be using ozone in stand alone form as it doesn't seem to have any latency compensation option
as far as exporting, will the latency issue have an effect on the exported file or is this only an issue when real time playback monitoring?

Yes, that's my experience. But if you look at the 5247 samples you say Ozone are reporting, is this a steady number or is it different depending on Ozone settings?Artcutech wrote:thanks stormkraft, both live and ozone delay compensation are enabled and it still happens.

My worst is also a master plug-in that has more than 3000 samples of latency typically. Especially Linear phase plug-in settings often gives more latency.

Yeah the numbers change, when ozone is loaded with no processors it's at 0 samples, then starts going up after loading processors. 5247 is eq dynamics imager and maximizer. But if you look at the 5247 samples you say Ozone are reporting, is this a steady number or is it different depending on Ozone settings?
I exported a mix with no master and one with, and lined them up together, i noticed that the one with the ozone master did not fully line up with the one without, in the first bar it's almost unnoticeable but gradually gets worse towards the end, you really have to zoom in to notice it though, is this the effect that the mastering has or is it due to the latency?

Re: can't find delay compensation for ozone advanced
Hey @Artcutech, not sure if this helps, but I was having a similar (maybe the same) issue. I have a master bus track in Ableton that isn't actually the default Master. I route everything to my master bus track before it goes to the default Master.
When I had Ozone on my master bus track, things were out of sync (especially vocal return effects). But when I place Ozone on the default Ableton Master track, things sync back up.
