I got scarlett 6i6 few years ago for my pc but I moved to live production using several gears . I have a mixer which I use to connect all these gears to. today I couldnt use the mixer so i thought I can use scarlet interface as a substitute . just pluged power supply no usb cable as Iam not using pc and connect the gears the way I do with mixer, but it didnt seem to work lol . am I doing somthing wrong or you cant use interface the same way you use mixer . probably very stupid question

but I always thought interface is capable of acting as a stand alone mixer .

you could use them both, just need a few more cables to route your rtn .. I do this and it allows you to use the mixer inputs along with the focusrite together. I like the virtual mixer from the focusrite and the knobs and sliders from the analog mixer. plus you get lots of inputs.
