My recent projects aren't opening?

Has anyone had this problem before.....I have recently taken the hard drive out that i keep my projects on and put it back in. When i go to open my recent projects the little spinning circle comes up and gets stuck forever and never opens. I can go to the actual folder and double click the project file which does work which makes it strange. I have cleared the recent list but still the projects that i have opened after clearing the list won't open via the open recent set list??

what kind of computer is this? are your Live libraries also on this external drive?

its a mac pro, 10.11, no the user library is on the main drive and i have a seperate SSD just for projects

can you copy a project to your harddrive and open it from there?

That actually seemed to fix it! weird as, all i did was copy one folder onto the desktop and now all the other recent links work. Don't know whats up with that! cheers mate
