MIDI Starts at C0. Why does Ableton start at C-2?

Until now, I haven't really considered this question, but here's why I have.
OnSong on the iPad maps all MIDI values as they are supposed to be mapped. The lowest octave is 0, the highest is 10. C0 is the lowest possible note value.
In Ableton Live, my key range goes from C -2 through G8. That means when I map C0 to the iPad through a Network MIDI session, the iPad reads it as C2.
Is there a way to reconfigure Ableton to start at C0 on all of the ranges?
