Hello All,
I'm very new to all of this, so bear with me.
I'm a new user of Ableton 9 Intro.
I'm working on something which contains a .alc file. When I double left click , it creates a midi track which then will play for the entirety of the piece (although in the arrangement view the clip doesn't show as an audio clip would).
Nothing I have tried from then on will allow me to automate the launching, or volume of the midi clip. I've tried using the pencil to automate track volume , but this does nothing.
Can anyone help and tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong?
Many Thanks

Perhaps the clip was created and is present in session view? every clip is a separate entity and will only be present in one place at a time. If you have the clip in session view, then you will need to move it or copy it to the arrangement view to have it play in the arrangement view.

Excellent, thanks for the insight.Da hand wrote:Perhaps the clip was created and is present in session view? every clip is a separate entity and will only be present in one place at a time. I moved the clip into arrangement view, exported the midi file and dropped it back in. That made it editable.
Phew!
