MOOG Minitaur & Sub 37 VST editors NOT WORKING in Ableton 10

Hello colleagues,
I post this here since the Moog forum is almost dead and can't find a solution nor help from them.
I'm having the popular issue "Disconnected" from the VST editors for the Minitaur and Sub 37, I'm using Windows 7 x64 + Ableton Live 10.
I've installed the latest firmware 2.2.1 and USB driver 4.35.0, also tried downgrading with other versions of firmware and using the generic USB composite driver from Windows too but I still get the disconnected message.
The standalone version of the editor works ok, so the issue is probably between windows and ableton 10. Was working ok in my old rig with Ableton 9.7.5. but not in this new PC and with the new Ableton Live.
Can someone tell me what can I do to test or solve this frustrating "disconnected" problem?
thank you in advance.

I don't have the hardware you use, but ran into several "ghost issues" with live 10.
What i did, is clearing the prefernces (cfg) and set up midi and audio again.
And rightclick live10 shortcut and set it to run as administrator.
Maybe this points you out in the right direction.

thanks for answering,
I will try deleting the cfg file. I'm already running Live as administrator.

No my friend, the problem seems to be the drivers with Live 10, not the cfg file.
Was working with ableton 9.7.5
Anyone using the Minitaur and Sub 37 with Live 10 and Win 7 without issues? I doubt it.

Try uninstalling the Moog drivers and just use the default Windows drivers. You don't actually need the Moog drivers to use the Minitaur with the editor. I haven't used the .vst editor, though, only standalone.

Thanks for your contribution.
I've already did that of course, but still getting the "disconnected" message.
I didn't hear of anyone using it without issues with that combination Live 10 + Win 7
the problem is exactly there probably, so, Moog should put hands to work to solve it.

Are the VST editors 64bit or 32bit?

Are the USB ports of the HW selected in the MIDI preferences of Live (as track, remote or sync)? if yes, unselect them.

64 bits both editors of course.

If I unselect the ports of the HW in the MIDI preferences how should I select the Minitaur output in the "External Instrument" plugin of Live??, that's not correct, of course that way solves the disconnected problem but then I can't send MIDI to the Minitaur since the instrument dissapear from the External Instrument menu.

I spent all night reinstalling all my system, migrated to Windows 10 Pro, I have everything working as intended now and like it must be, with MIDI only thru USB.
Because I'm not a moron, I came back to update, because I really complained in many forums about Moog and their editors, and the "disconnected" issue, but I also must say that I never got support from them by email nor in their forum. The thing just doesn't work in Windows 7 if you have a modern PC.
Anyways, everything working here now on Windows 10 Pro + Ableton Live 10 (USB driver 4.35.0 + Firmware 2.2.1 + Editor 3.2.0)
Best.

Hello, I have the same issue with Win8.1 and Live 9.7.5. It looks like it's either the standalone / VST editor or Live that are allowed to acces to the Minitaur MIDI port, but not both.
The only solution appears to be upgrading to Win10?? That's crazy...
Thanks in advance.

I mean, there is a sloppy workaround for this thing, which requires additional MIDI interface, for example a sound card with MIDI:
- Connect both USB cable and MIDI cable to the Minitaur
- Switche the Minitaur MIDI port to OFF in Live MIDI preferences
- Use 2 MIDI tracks: One for the VST editor, that's going to be using the Minitaur MIDI port, so you can load presets, program automation, etc. Load the external instrument in the second MIDI track and select your MIDI interface that's connected to the Minitaur as your MIDI output. This is for sending the MIDI notes.
OK, I said sloppy, didn't I?

Congratulations!
I've got a question: If you automate Minitaur's controls (e.g. cutoff) in Ableton and send the data back to the synth, are those parameter changes applied with 7-bit (steppy) or 14-bit (smooth)?
