Ableton not recognizing powered plugins! help

Hi,

I just installed and bought Ableton Live 10, and I'm trying to get my Apollo Twin card to work with it. It all works fine, except for that the plugins doesn't show up in the plugins list, and it's supposed to be 64bit from install, right?
I've changed my custom folder from C drive to D drive.

Please help, every other plugin works from any other manufacturer for me.

Thanks

Best,

J

Make sure the plugins are enabled in the UAD meter and control panel area

Check install locations for plugin and whether the ableton is pointing at those which are relevant to your setup - then rescan

Windows

VST (64bit)
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Powered Plugins\

VST (32bit)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Powered Plugins\

AAX64
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\

Mac

VST
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Powered Plug-Ins

Audio Units
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

RTAS
/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins

AAX64
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

It doesn't really matter what folder you install your plugins in, the question really is: Does your Live Preferences setup point to the folder you installed your plugins in?

So in this case, if you installed your plugins in:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Powered Plugins\

(I assume that means you have checked that the actual ".dll" files for your plugins are there)

Then check your preferences in Live to make sure it points to this same folder (or any folder above this folder).

I had the same exact issue as the people in this forum. I discovered a solution. I don't know if it will apply, but I was using the "Powered Plugins" from Program(x86) -> "Universal Audio" folder. I then went to the "Program Files" folder and copied the plugins from Universal Audio -> Powered Plugins into my VST2 folder. I don't know why the one inside of Program Files is different from the one in Program (x86). Maybe 32bit vs 64? Either way, after doing that, on the sidebar in Ableton I went to Plug-ins and under VST, a "Powered Plugins" folder appeared with all the UAD powered plugins. Hope that helps someone.

Sidenote: I am using Windows so this solution probably won't apply to Mac users.

@CeznaMusic Dude, thank you so much. I was having the same issue- UAD Powered Plugins not appearing inside Ableton even after correctly pointing Abelton in the right direction. I went a step further and copied the entire "Powered Plugins" folder from the NON x86 "Program Files" location and then pasted the entire folder into the 86X "Program Files/Steinberg/VST" folder- then rescanned AND toggled custom VST folder on/off and POOF-- I got another option inside the plugings folder in Ableton called "VST" that has all my UAD powered plugins.
