Hi guys..

I have a pick up measure, then my verse 1 starts on measure number 2.
Is there any way I can change the number so I can make my verse1 starts on measure no.1?

Does using locators not work for you? Would also like to know if changing the measure numbers is possible but I don't think so.

It is possible to sort of change the bar numbers. Using sig markers. Very useful to reset bar numbers after partial bars.
The caveat is : you cant make the verse start on an arbitrary number like 1, but you can make it start on a sequentially relevant number like 4. Which is equally useful (assuming you are writing in 4/4)

Method: create two time signature markers, First make the second marker you'll require (!) Put a marker at bar 2 and title it 4/4, this will re-set the timeline to 4/4.
Now make the first sig marker (!) put this marker on the start of the song and title it 16/4

the theory and the practice of Ableton's implementation is interesting to discuss, but its probably quicker just to do what I said and then stare at it and play the timeline to make sure it sounds as you expect.

Are you synchronizing Live with something else that needs to start at absolutely measure 1?

If not, and it is only a matter of convenience to see the measure 1 count on the "1" instead of the "2", then as a work-around you could always just start your project 100 measures up. Pickup measure = 100. First full measure = 101. To Live it makes no difference where you start playing from or where you are rendering your project from (you just need to tell Live where to start rendering from, that's all).

No I am not sync anything else. I just wanna it starts on 1 so I can count my measures easier. Thanks for your answer!
