I watched a youtube video on ClyphX and I followed the directions given: Put the ClyphX folder which contains a bunch of .py files into the MIDI Remote Scripts folder and restart Live. But unlike in the video, the python scripts do not get compiled to .pyc files. So ClyphX doesn't show up as a controller in Live's MIDI settings. What am I missing?

Version of Live Etc.?

Maybe post a picture of where you've set them up....

I'm sure someone else will have an idea, but as you may know ClyphX isn't supported anymore...

Personally, ClyphX seems to be working fine in Live 9.7.6.

Live 10.0.1.

I copied the ClyphX folder into the MIDI Remote Scripts folder, alongside all the other scripts folders, all of which contain compiled .pyc files. In the youtube howto video I watched, Live compiled the python .py scripts in the ClyphX folder when he started the program.

There's nothing in the ClyphX manual about this. The Live manual doesn't say anything about scripts.

Probably best to use it in Live 9.7.5 then...

I'm looking for an answer to this question. Regardless of Clyphx, I have a folder called CUSTOM inside the MIDI Remote Scripts folder. It has a single __init__.py file, with nothing in it except:

from __future__ import absolute_import, print_function

On restarting live, the py file is not compiled to pyc. As expected, the CUSTOM folder doesn't show up as an option.. what's going on? THX

Are you on Catalina? If so then I believe you're out of luck...

And if we're not on Catalina? I'm having the same issue. Restarting Live and also the computer and py files are still uncompiled with the my custom script folder.

Don't think compiling them makes a difference anymore, I have fully operational scripts that aren't compiled.
