why in the coursera course berklee does she have a drop down menu for buffer? i dont have any drop down menu?, it just says 8192 samples. wtf am i doing wrong? i am frustrated about my latency settings. i am gonna get a scarlet probably but would that make a difference?

Scarlett is all right, Claretts even more so, and will be better than native audio. Still there might be issues so do some specific model research. The main thing is choosing someone that keep updating their drivers. I suspect no-one does that better than RME, which is a bigger investment typically. If you search I think you can find some good threads on audio interfaces here and elsewhere. A good starting point.
