Re: Double sounds when recording with quantization

Which Live version are you using.
It reminds me a bug from maybe a couple years ago, but I don't remember much and I would need to check.
Did you do a search on the forum?

Well, after analyzing the situation, I know what is happening.
]My problem is with live loop recording, because of the circumstances I describe

MONITOR
Auto Monitor > The track responds to MIDI signals only if it is armed. And after the recording is finished, it continues playing (very important for live recording).

Monitor ON > The track responds to MIDI signals always, whether armed or not.
On the other hand, once you end playback, the track does not continue to play (you need to set the monitor back to Auto).

In case of live recordings, it is interesting to leave the monitor on Auto to listen only to the track you are recording and to keep the track playing after it has been recorded.

QUANTIZER
The problem described in this thread is that if we quantize and give a note outside the beat, but close to it, we hear the note through the monitor and then we hear it when the quantizer records it inside the track in its corresponding beat. That's why it is heard twice.
If we play the note far away from the beat, we hear it in the monitor but it is not recorded in the track.

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MONITOR AND QUANTIZER?

If we use the monitor in Auto > The problem mentioned above occurs (we listen to the monitor and hear the correct beat) > This is very uncomfortable to monitor.

If we use the monitor ON > NO the problem occurs, we only hear the monitor, but when the note is recorded in its correct place, it is not played again. Therefore, even if due to our error we hear the note out of beat, at least the note is not played twice.

For live loop recording I would like:
  • Record a track, and after finishing, it continues playing
  • Monitor only the armed track
  • Quantize
  • Don't listen to doubles of the hits that I make outside of the beat
And currently, this combination is not possible to achieve.

Do you agree with the description of the problem?

Ok, i just checked and I can reproduce, even with midi chasing off.
