Live Versions: 10, 9
macOS 10.14 "Mojave" Compatibility
Live 10 is not yet fully compatible with macOS Mojave.
Important: We advise users to wait until a fully compatible version of Live is released before updating to macOS Mojave. Join the Live 10 Beta to receive the very latest updates.

Max 7 is not fully compatible with Mojave, and as such we recommend that users wait to upgrade to the latest Mac OS (10.14) until we are able to fix the issues we are seeing.
Thanks for your patience while we work on this!

Live 9.7.7 is the latest release of Live 9 and does not work on my computer with Mojave. The earlier version of Live 9 I had ran fine on the last Mac OS. I need to run a project and I am dead in the water.

What‘s it exactly that‘s not working under Mojave with Live 9.7?

UI render's pretty much slow to unusable. Audio works fine.
Seems like the same issues firefox has rendering some websites making it slow and laggy.

But reading that ableton 10 isn't fully compatible yet makes me hesitant to upgrade to 10 yet...

...so, I did the jump myself and ... everything looks cool. Smooth graphics, all plugins seem to be fine, old tracks load ok, no hick-ups until now. :D :D

I‘m on the 64bit version of Live 9.7.7. and have all my plugins updated as much as I could.

So I am kind of wondering why Ableton labels Live 9.x as incompatible with Mojave?
Maybe it just means they don‘t care and won‘t invest precious developer-days into tedious work - which I can very well understand, they want me to pay for the upgrade to L10

So, happy camper here!

Hi andre_X,

Have you come across any problems since your last post in November, where you reported to be a happy camper?

I've just been using the 64bit version of Live 9 on Mojave 10.14.1 for the last couple of days and so far have had no probs, even managed to knock up a decent tune

So yup, I'm wondering if theres actually no problems, just no support?

probably best to hit up support@ableton.com and ask them...

having said that, the link that was provided earlier in the thread is pretty specific about the issues

i'm very removed from this community, so if i've missed something here, i'm sorry.

I have live 9, and just (for various practical reasons) just upgraded to mojave. I am having, what SEEM to be (won't get into the entire chain of logic) issues with midi and live 9. the thing is that I'm very much not a power user of Live, and because I use it mostly for midi routing (i use kyma mostly for audio) - i have come to trust its basic midi processing.

but since I upgraded to Mojave 2-3 days ago, i have had unreliable midi connections. At this point, the issue seems to point to Live 9 - was just questioning that a little, but when rebooting live totally fixed the problem, it felt like a mystery solved.

(edit - maybe should mention that I'm using midi in from hardware, and midi out to hardware. The issue tonight was with a usb connection, and i questioned the usb hub, but as i said, rebooting live totally fixed the issue)

and it will cost me $229 to upgrade to live 10 just to see if the problem is fixed. sigh.

You can demo Live 10 before you buy it actually.

Just wanted to chime in here:

I have set up a clean install with my fresh Mac (see signature for specs) using Live 9.7.7 and Mojave 10.14.4 as I wanted to test out this combination before trialing Live 10 on this machine.
The issues I get are as follows:
1) Projects load (relatively) slow, considering I use an SSD for data.
2) Several crashes, often when using the Tab key to toggle from Session to Arrangement or when trying to open projects.

Audio, graphics and CPU usage are fine so far.
My questions to you all would be:
May I expect considerably better behavior of Live 10 on Mojave?
What are your experiences so far?
