Re: 2 Maschine Jam in Ableton
8x8 shouldn’t be a problem.
The problem will be the smart strip controls.
If you select a device, both sets of strips will be set to that device simultaneously. The workaround is if you Lock them to a device. Then if one is locked to a device, the other can freely switch to controlling other devices, etc.

Hi
Thank you for your help
According to what you say I can control 16 smart strip controls from two devices?
Thank

Re: 2 Maschine Jam in Ableton
No. You would have redundant control. 8 stripe for one device. Both controlling the same parameters, unless you are able to switch banks, then you should be able to control different parameters, but this isn’t automatic, you’d have to deliberately switch one to the next bank. Or you can Lock one Jam to a device in Ableton Live which prevents it from moving to other devices. But the Lock feature either requires a mouse or needs to be programmed into the script used for your Jam.

Hi
Thanks
Is there a normal way!
Connect to Abelton 16 or more
Channels Strips
physically ??
And that it was motorized?
Thanks

Re: 2 Maschine Jam in Ableton
Okay so I may have made a slightly off assumption. For Device Control, you’d be limited to having to do some quirky things. For channel faders you should definitely be able to do 16 as long as the faders on the Jam follow the highlighted channels in session view.

Hi
I just got a response from native instruments
>>>It´s only possible to use one Maschine JAM at a time.
It would be possible to connect two JAMs, but one would have to remain in MIDI Mode while the other will control Maschine.>>>
Too bad
It would have been great

Re: 2 Maschine Jam in Ableton
Ohhhhh. I guess that makes sense. They use a program which turns Maschine devices into midi controllers instead of them having built-in midi implementation. Since it relies on their software, there will only be one instance of the program, and therefore only a single port for Jam.
Re: 2 Maschine Jam in Ableton
Do you have a solution
How to make a physical mix of at least 18 20 channels
And that it was a motor
Lol this piece of section
Thanks

Re: 2 Maschine Jam in Ableton
I am running two Jam units with Ableton 11.1 as we speak. Through some accidental clicks and a bit of luck, I briefly had them working side-by-side as two different distinct Ableton controllers, with zero Maschine instances running.

That said, I am not unable to replicate this fully. I can get my touch strips to focus on two separate banks of 8 channels, which is great... but the focus of the grid/matrix on two separate 8x8 regions is now lost. I am working through possible solutions this week, in hopes of being able to trigger 16 rows of clips across, as well as control 16 channel strips for levels/sends, with my pair of Jam units. Standby!
