Is it possible to play notes, or control sequences of notes with a (physical) dial in Ableton?
I just want to use a simple controller with 6 knobs and faders, but would like to control note values, or sets of notes with the dials.

Any Max for Live Devices or simple ways to do this?

Check out max for cats “mse” It’s a synth but It comes with a sequencer that sounds like it might work for you and can be used separate from the synth. I’ve never tried it but I’d assume it’s midi controllable. It has eight “knobs” but you may be able to shorten the sequence. As a nice bonus the synth has a nice sem type sound.
