hi

when i hit RECORD in arrangement view (NOT session view) Ive selected a blank midi clip and I should expect to see the piano roll at the bottom of the screen to see what midi notes i am inputting on the fly, however it just says "no clip selected"

I know session view shows me inputting midi on the piano roll on the fly, but why cant arrangement? makes no sense

You can just click the arrow at the bottom, you can see it there. You can also use shift tab to switch between the device tab and midi tab

You can not while recording

Any updates on this? Im having the same problem, Ill have piano roll up for a track in arrangement view then when I hit record in arrangement view it disappears. Any help would be great!

did you ever figure this out? im having the exact same problem. every time i try recording the piano roll disappears and it says no track selected. i never had this problem with ableton 9.

bump to this - why can i not see the clip i want to overdub notes to?

Ah I encountered this the other day. I was trying to overdub some performance data and was unable to look at the notes while doing so. Eager to know if there's a way around this.
