this may be a dumb question but sometimes when I copy at midi clip using (ALT-drag on Mac) it copied the automation data behind it, but sometimes it doesn't...

I'm confused, how do you get it so that when I ALT DRAG a midi clip the automation behind it gets copied along with it?

If you always want to copy it make sure you do not have automation lock on.
