I want to hear how you guys go about saving projects as you move from starting to finish....

Obviously the first step is to "Save As" so it creates a folder..

but then as you go along and make new clips edit, delete takes etc..

do you guys continue to use "Save live set" ?

or do you use "Collect All & Save"?

these 2 features confuse me as I want to back up everything I need but also don't want files/takes that I don't need to save space

would love to hear your guys' save and back up methods!

Collect All & Save would be your "backup" option as it will gather all your samples and loops and create a copy of these in your project folder and set the reference to these files which is the ideal option if you tend to move and delete your files.

SaveAs is just the ability to make another copy of your actual project file and I have gotten into the habbiot (and would also recommend) to do "SaveAs" often to create a new version of your project especially when adding new instruments or effects. So in my folder I may have "song.als" then "song02.als" etc. It ensures you have a backup as you go so in the event you have a dodgy plugin or sometimes a corrupt set, you can go back to a previous save.
