Hi
I have 61 keys on midi keyboard mapped to 61 slots in ableton loaded with 61 samples and would like a fast way to change back and forth to an additional 61 different slots of different samples. Is there a easy way to do this?
Thanks

Thats not possible, MIDI Mapping remains with where you've mapped it, it cannot be switched on the fly.

I appreciate the prompt help. In your opinion would it be hard to somehow implement that type of feature and does it seam like a feature that might be useful to very many users.
Thanks

A solution exists for parameters with ClyphX Pro's Bindings Accessory, however this doesn't relate to clip slots.

What you'd need is a control surface script writing which would create a red box around the selected track clip slots and enable you to move this around the session grid.

...could'nt you just change the octave of the keyboard?

Control surface script writing is more than I am capable of understanding. Changing the octave sounds like it would work and very easy. I was kind of wondering whether anyone else was even interested in such a feature that maybe Ableton could implement.

This feature is more than ably covered by dozens of MIDI Controllers already, they are generally more suited to this usage...

If your keyboard allows you to change midi channel you can do that to quickly give yourself another set of slots to map to.

If there is not midi channel change directly on the keyboard, it may have a preset mapping/management software for editing presets on the controller. Sometimes that gives you the option to create a preset where the keys are a different midi channel. That would be convenient, as then you’d simply have to change presets on your keyboard to get a new set of mappable keys.

Thanks I will have a look at those options. Changing octaves works pretty good. On my five octave keyboard I can go down 4 octaves and up 3 for a total of 12 octaves or 144 sample slots. But I will compare those other options also. I have a push 2 and apc 40 but I kind of prefer the feel of piano keys.
