Cannot save file - could not be opened error

So my old LivePA set won't let me save. It's old. I used to be on version 8. I just bought a new license for version 10 because I've been told version 8 is obsolete and Ableton wanted more money from me.

Now my launchpad is doing all sorts of weird shit like triggering a solo button it's not routed to, ignoring clips and all sorts of other tomfoolery.

but the real kick in the face is that I can't save a file. it says "the file {my set} could not be opened". I have tried regular saving. save as. save a copy. collect all and save. no luck. I've unlocked permissions as much as I think is possible. what's going on? please help. just trying to make music but these days between compatibility issues, upgrades, glitches and nothing working it just seems impossible. I spend virtually all my creative time solving technical problems now.

That sucks indeed, but unfortunately not a surprise when jumping 2 version ahead.
You should check your 3rd party plugins. Maybe an old 32bit plugins issue (Live 10 is 64bit only).
Also try opening a new blank set; drag every tracks one-by-one from your offending set from Live's Browser. If you can drag everything without an issue that's already a good sign. Now try to save this set and let us know what happens.

thanks for the reply. copying and pasting into a new session may be the bet here. there are some legacy plugins that didn't load. haven't tried removing them. got a few things to try I suppose. getting old and trying to stay on your game as a producer is humbling. a buddy was laughing at me a couple days ago over my shock at the horrible new logo. apparently it changed six years ago.

For me was problem iCloud drive. It deleted files, because uploaded to cloud... Hope for some of you it will give ideas what can be wrong
