Is there a way to have sounds such as a lead sound not respond to the sustain pedal in Ableton? While keeping a pedal response for other sounds such as a pad?

Perhaps there's a way to do this with clips? Or maybe there's some setting on the instruments? This is such a simple and necessary feature for a keyboardist. I would expect ableton to be able to pull this off, but the solution isn't obvious if there even is one.
