I bought this and cannot transfer the license to the account. I reported it to Ableton but that was over a week ago and clearly the guy is still selling these copies on Ebay. I guess Ableton does not care. He's sold over 150 copies (at $37 each) and it's basically cracked software. I'm going to get my money back through my credit card company but he claims it's old stock his music company bought. Why would you sell $600 software for $37. I don't get it.

It's a scam and he's been banned from the forums for trying to sell these here. I'm sorry you got burned on Ebay, but why did you think that something being sold for $37 that's normally $600 was a good (or legit) deal?

And yet you thought it was too good to be true and went for it anyway.

It's not up to Ableton to police these things, the user needs to be wary of "too good to be true" cases like this. Always purchase using Paypal online because you can easily get your refund for software. If you used a Credit Card directly then have fun with that.

Personally if I were to see $600 software for $35 and the seller is Russian i'd probably pass on that

Hey I have no complaints. At the end of the day I got a working copy of Live 10 Suite for my Mac (passed all virus tests on virustotal.com) so I cannot complain. Just sucks I paid for something that is usually free if you download it elsewhere.

Actually it's not "usually free" if you are referring to illegally cracked, you basically just paid to use a jank version and now admit you have it all installed and working now. The fact you paid for the convenience instead of using a torrent or something doesn't make it any more acceptable or less illegal. I'd be more inclined personally to file a dispute with ebay and try get the user shutdown as he's making illegal money from suckers.

Just hope you never want to update your system or have any issues with anything is all...

Thanks anyway for reporting this, it's always best if we have track of such things.
Don't use this crack btw, we have a very solid protection system that will inevitably trigger at some point and render all your projects unusable... Just so you know.

I'm selling one slightly used Eiffel tower. It would normally be a few hundred million Euro, but I'm willing to let it go for €3,700 as we bought lots of them and no longer need them.
