Dunno.
c:\programdata\Ableton\Live[version number]
IS Live's installation folder, and here on Win7 .\_autoupdates is right there.

In c:\program files I find no reference to Ableton or Live 10 Suite, at least not now, after the update's been completed.

If you happen to install Live to "Program Files" then some things such as updates will fail. Under Win 7 it was fine but security has been tightened in Win 10 and it does not allow programs to write data into the Program Files folder anymore.

This is why the default install location is now C:\ProgramData.

Recommendation would be to uninstall Live then reinstall and let it install to the ProgramData location when it prompts or if you for some reason don't want it there, install to a location where it is not a security controlled part of the system.

If that is not the case then more info needed

I'm experiencing the exact problem.
A very large folder of updated files exists in a folder of the ProgramData folder but no update takes place.

Any resolution on this oddity?

Do you have your auto-update preference turned On?

It now works as expected. Perhaps I wasn't waiting long enough?

Yes, this can happen sometimes.
