Simpler failed to Warp correctly, found workaround...

Hi there,
I loaded 2 guitar riff samples onto 2 separate Simpler midi tracks. One warped correctly, the other didn't (didn't sync rhythm to match project bpm).
So I went into preferences and checked auto Warp long samples (they were both about 10 sec samples). It didn't correct the sample Warp.
Then I dropped that sample into a clip and warped from there, changed the bpm, and it worked (matched the metronome and tried bpm changes to confirm).
I took that warped clip and put it into another instance of Simpler in order to play it in different notes. Now it's fine. But the original Simpler track still doesn't Warp.
Does anyone possibly know what I'm doing wrong? Or is this a glitch and common workaround? Thanks.

Simpler always references the warping already in a clip. Simpler itself isn’t doing the warping. It is just using the warping that exists.

If a clip is not warped before dragging it in, Live will ‘guess’ as to how it would be warped. Sometimes it guesses wrong. To guarantee it is correct, drag the clip into Live, edit the clip and do the warping manually, then hit Save in clip properties. Then whenever you drag the clip in, it will be properly warped.

For audio that is a clean cut loop, from packs etc, odds are pretty good that it will properly warp. Aside from that it’s a calculated gamble, and not guaranteed to be correct by default. It is also not possible to change warping from within Simpler. Only change warp algorithms.
