Wasapi support for Windows
Re: Wasapi support for Windows
It's 2024 now and Ableton still would not support the Windows standard Audio API WASAPI.
Re: Wasapi support for Windows
WASAPI please.
It is absolutely essential for onboard sound on Windows.

Yes, Ableton Live is is the only DAW that still does not support WASAPI. Bitwig does, and though I like Live much more at the momient, I do not discard changing if Bitwig gets Capture Midi and a couple of features more that today lacks.
My laptop works like a charm with WASAPI, and having to use ASIO4ALL, that is clunky AF, is a big turnoff. I have a couple of proper small audio interfaces with ASIO, but I do not like having to use the laptop in the couch with several things attached. I have a desktop in the studio with a multichannel interface and all my hardware connected and ready, I want my laptop as light as possible.
On top of that, I feel Bitwig more solid and stable with hardware that Live. I am getting to think that Ableton is lagging behind in the technical side, while getting bloated with "tools" that I do not really use.
