Using Push 2 to control Machine VST - pads only trigger Kick

Does anyone know how to configure the Maschine VST to work with push so when I load the VST, the push pads trigger all the drums sounds in a drum preset on Maschine - not just all trigger various pitches of the Kick?

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have Maschine version 1 - not sure if that makes a difference as far as your instruction as I couldn't really follow what you were describing.
I did the following through: I dropped a drum rack into a midi track and dropped an External Instrument into each of the 16 drum slots then assigned each of the Midi Out to Maschine 1, 2, 3, etc.
That worked but the thing is I can't seem to save those sittings as a template. When I try and save and load it again all the External Instrument assigning is lost.
I tried to group everything but that didn't work.
