This is a warning to any new buyers of Ableton software transfer between private buyers.
There are fraudsters operating within this forum scamming your money by selling you license keys that have been stolen/cracked or acquired by illegal means.
Ableton license validation means nothing if your copy is a stolen version.
That means an authorised license key registered and downloaded to you computer. There is no chance of ever recovering your money if Ableton decides to cancel your account at any later date... I.e a week later, months later... this is where the thief runs away with your money, cancels your subscription and basically you are screwed!
I repeat, Ableton can cancel your registered copy at their discretion and you will be left with no software and unrecoverable money.
Take care out there! Trust no one!
Ableton license transfer scams
Re: Ableton license transfer scams
You have already posted this three times now, please stop as you've made your point. I have been in contact with my colleagues and know exactly what happened in your situation regarding the stolen credit card. It's unfortunate and am sorry you found yourself on the receiving end of a fraudulent license transfer, but venting about it on the forums is not going to fix the situation. We already have a post pinned at the top of the forum telling people that it's buyer beware when it comes to second hand license transfers.
The only sure way to not find yourself in a situation such is yours is to purchase a new license yourself directly from the Ableton webshop or one of our authorized dealers. Buying second hand in order to save money will always carry more risk as you know nothing about the original seller.

Re: Ableton license transfer scams
Ableton authorised my license key, sent me a confirmed registered software copy in my name, authorised the software on my computer, validated the installation as ‘legit’... not one warning message through that entire registration process... yet one week later de-activates that license code.... pretty much leaving me screwed.
There must be responsibility on Abletons behalf for their pivotal role of this license through Ableton and their involvement in allowing stolen goods to be traded through their official web forum.
I have invested thousands in a computer, Push 2, interface, sound system, speakers, software, audio packs, electronic gadgets(all second hand along with many )... this is the first instance in my music adventure of ever being ripped off!
I had taken every security measure to ensure I had safely transfered a working license key to myself before completing the Sale.
Had at any point of this sale had Ableton’s security system flashed a warning message that required another tier of security to ensure to me that the software they had authorised could be stolen using a stolen credit card, cracked, forged, illegal, as a means of laundering money .... and irretrievable should Ableton decide at a later date cancel this license at their discretion, without any prior notification to the new user .... simply blows my mind.
Yet, Ableton de-activates my software, the identity thief walks away scout free and I am left with no Ableton and an irrecoverable large sum of my savings!
It maybe easy for you to say not to vent myself here ... but I only hope that I save other eager Ableton buyer’s the facts to save themselves from the grief and loss Ableton has put me through.
Peace!!
