I seem to ciontinually have a certain problem. Once i record into arrangement mode, if I try to go back into session mode and record some new stuff, I still end up hearing the arrangement mode playing. Even if I deactivate the arrangement mode with the button next to the overdub button, I still hear it about half the time.
Somone run me through the proper way of switching back and forth, just so i can see if I've been doing it wrong. AllI know is it irritates the crap out of me, and makes it very difficult to record my songs. Especially since it doesn't always seem to do it.
It's possible I'm just totally confused (very likely) and don't go tell me to read the manual. I already have.

Not quite sure what you guys mean but remember you can have tracks playing in arrangement view while recording in session view at the same time. Im also presumiing you switch the red button on and off.

I think I might get this also and I usually just press stop all clips is session view. (if its the same thing were talking about?)

Yes, Live 4.1.4 here.

To me, the problem is: say I've made a part in the arrangement that is pretty solid and want to move on by using the session view to jam further parts. Whenever I play a clip, the arrangement starts out again. There seems to be no way for me to really seperate Session playback from Arrangement playback.

yeah, exactly. I record part of the song in arrangement then decide to go back and record a new guitar part in session mode to a brand new drum part also in session, but the song still plays the music in arrangement mode in addition to the new drum part.
I did however notice last night that if i press play on individual clips it starts playing the arrangement mode audio, but if I use the play buttons on the far right and play entire scenes it doesn't give the arrangement audio a voice. Maybe that's the answer.
Too bad there's not just a simple button that disconnects the audio and play button between the 2 views. that would by far be the easiest way to make all this work.
