Hello everyone,
I'm having problems running ableton 10 on my Imac. I do the installation and when i launch ableton I can only see a white screen. I really don't know what to do, has anyone else encounter this problem? Im running the software on Imac mid 2010 with Mojave. Hopefully someone will be able to help fix this.

I have the same problem on Catalina. I also would like to know how to fix it!

I experience the same issue.

There are a number of things that I've tried such as unplugging all USB ports, removing audio plugins, reinstalling, all to no avail.

The program starts up and even seems responsive (clicking on locations in the popup where a button should be actually leads to the window properly closing) and the logs in ~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live\ 10.1.9/Log.txt do not seem to indicate an obvious problem.

Used to work earlier (as in a few weeks back)

I am on OSX 10.15.4

Any hints on how to solve, would be appreciated.

I'm having this problem too. New Mac mini and Catalina (10.15.4). Tried downloading live 10 lite but it won't let me authorise it. After installation, I just get the white screen.

Anybody get a response from ableton about this?! I’m almost 24 hours after purchasing Live and haven’t been able to use it yet.

Ableton 9 works. Version 10 have white screen, becouse programers enable some 3D graphics - instead leave VESA graphics as in version 9. Logic pro X works here to. Just ableton 10 wants aditiobal drivers for graphics.

I mean no one can run ableton 10 on mac if using nvidia(non metal version) on mojave and catalina ... need to use old operating system to run version 10 of ableton.

I was just about to upgrade on my iMac from 10.13 to 10.15. Are there any iMacs using 10.15 out there with it working? I have Radeon Pro 580 8192 MB, I see the poster above says its Navidia?

I might have a solution for you.

Bottomline: there appears to be an issue between Ableton white screen problem and display settings and higher refresh rates especially using USB-C thunderbolt connection in OS Catalina. Was at least for me (Mac Mini 2020, Catalina, 2xDell 2719 monitors connected with Thunderbolt USB-C to the mini)

Solution:
1. Go to the display settings control panel in system preferences:
2. change your display settings to Default for display
3. restart your computer
4. Open Ableton (and it should work again!)

Backstory: I was running Ableton 10.1.15 successfully on my new Mac Mini 2020 using OSX Catalina 10.15.5 and then bought a new monitor (Dell 2719). Messing around in the Display control panel I noticed I could change the screen refresh to a higher value if I abandoned the Default for Display setting and went for Scaled option instead. I promptly did this, but next time Ableton opened I had the blank screen issue everyone's been writing about. Changing back to Default for display and the lower 60HZ refresh rate solved the problem.

Hope this might help a few of you out there too!

i've the same issue on cataline 10.15.4but only with a specific set i've made. i'm on live 10.1.15.

This is ridiculous, I see that the WSOD (White Screen Of Death) has been an issues for months and still no resolution?! I just paid a lot of money for a white screen window, I think I want my money back. *Joe Pesci Voice*
